outreach

About 12 years ago i worked for the BBC in the UK at a department called 21CC (twenty first century classroom) I was the creative Producer. My role was to develop and lead workshops for young people and teachers across the whole of the UK where we would use technology creatively and hopefully pass on skills that could be taken back into the classroom and used. We would partner with BBC broadcast output (Doctor Who, Sports relief etc) as well as initiating our own projects. In the time i was there i must have worked with thousands of young people and teachers. I loved the teaching side of it.

It would be brilliant to connect with young people again, now that i am a full-time Artist (facilitated by the school) and talk to them about being an Artist and try to inspire them to make drawings and paintings. Here are some ways this can happen.

Elementary and Primary Schools

These sessions would be done via Zoom and last approx 45 mins

1. Career Talk

A light talk through of what life is like as an Artist..and my journey to get to where i am today.I will show some work and we can have a Q and A at the end.

2. Live drawalong

The class can draw along with me live for 45 minutes... we can take a trip under the sea, into the jungle or go and meet our featherd friends.

High Schools and Secondary Schools

These sessions would be done via Zoom and last approx 1h 30 mins

2. Illustration or Animation Brief

Using resources from my website, i can set your students a brief and then we can arrange a crit meeting at the end where i view the work made! The students would work with the teacher to make the content.
